James Gunn recently took to Facebook to let fans understand that he’s done approaching crazy rumors with regards to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which can be totally fair — but it also means he won’testosterone levels be tweeting or Facebook-posting with this latest rumor, that potentially reveals the particular identity of the villain in the upcoming sequel. And it’s a major one. Bigger than Thanos…in space, anyway.
Take this gossip with a grain of salt, etcetera., etc., you know the drill, especially simply because this one originates at Geek.com — a rather untested site with regards to scoops. That said, it’s some sort of plausible one, because site claims which sources close to generation have revealed that Vanity will be making a look in Guardians of the Environment Vol. 2.
For the uninitiated, Pride is a living world that began existence in the Black Universe, where it evolved and developed natural and organic attributes — like a brain. Ego has awareness and intelligence, and thus, begins to consider his importance (or vanity!) and starts believing that hey, he’s a fairly powerful planet, perhaps he could take over a galaxy or 2. Ego has also battled with Thor, the Kree in addition to others…including Thanos.
But as Thanos is actually sitting Guardians of the Globe Vol. 2 out (presumably to help actually obtain a damn Infinity Rock already), Ego is a suitable replacement, supplying the intergalactic heroes a level bigger (way greater) and weirder (way weirder) fish to fry.
All of this will remain unconfirmed, of course, for one more several months, as Miracle still has Captain America: City War and Doctor Strange set to strike theaters before Guardians in the Galaxy Vol. 2 arrives next year.
Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel and Sawzag Bautista are set to reprise their roles in the sequel, along with Kurt Russell in talks to participate in Star-Lord’s long-absent father. Oldboy celebrity Pom Klementieff has also joined the cast in a position rumored to be those of Mantis.
