Nicolas Winding Refn Teams Using James Bond Writers for Asian Action Thriller

Nicolas Winding Refn is currently inside post-production on his following stylish thriller, The Neon Demon, which often hits theaters this season and boasts a wonderful cast, including Drive star Christina Hendricks. But the ever-busy director is lining up his up coming project, which will staff him with two writers behind the actual James Bond franchise and acquire him back to Japan, the setting of his divisive thriller Only God Forgives.

Deadline studies that Refn is participating with Bond scribes Neal Purvis along with Robert Wade while on an untitled Asian-set film that will have “both thriller and steps elements,” though anyone familiar with Refn’s work won’t find that explanation shocking. Although info is scarce, this could be a project Refn has recently identified, known as The Avenging Silence. During a talk to Collider last year, Refn explained the concept for the film, which may explore a character that’ohydrates been played simply by three different personalities in his previous videos:

The motion picture would be shot in Tokyo and is some sort of spy thriller, which would make clear the involvement involving Purvis and Wade. Refn features yet to confirm if it project is actually The Avenging Silence, however, and the director often has several ideas percolating therefore it’s possible that they’re planning something else or maybe that this idea has evolved.

The Neon Demon was recently acquired by means of Amazon for a theater release and distinctive streaming rights. That film hits cinemas sometime this year along with stars Elle Fanning as a youthful model who confronts a group of beauty-obsessed women.
