If you still had concerns about whether Dwayne Johnson’utes R-rated Baywatch movie could actually be hilarious, here’s some news that should dismiss all of them. Comedian Hannibal Buress has signed up with Johnson in the impending comedic take on the popular ’90s TV series, during which he’ll play — well, does it really subject who he’s actively playing? He’s going to make you actually laugh either way.
THR reports that Buress has closed on for the Baywatch picture, which is being guided by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) from a program by Robert Mary Garant (Reno 911!), Justin Malen, in addition to Damian Shannon and Mark Swift (Freddy vs. Jason). Buress, who also appears on the Comedy Central series Broad City, will play one of the local occupants in the beach community.
Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron topic the cast associated with Baywatch, which centers on a veteran lifeguard (Johnson), forced to team up with a young past Olympian (Efron) to thwart the actual forces that are seeking to destroy their regional beach. The pair are usually joined by Johnson’s San Andreas co-star Alexandra Daddario, type Kelly Rohrbach, and Priyanka Chopra — all whom play gorgeous members of the lifeguard staff because you can’t use a Baywatch movie without eye-catching ladies slow-mo running inside swimsuits.
Baywatch hits movie theaters on May 21, 2017.
