We’ve known for some time now that original Jump Street creating / directing combo Phil Lord and Frank Miller would be linked to 23 Jump Street, but given their increasingly active schedules, it felt less and less likely in which they’d find time for it to direct it. Similar that’s definitely the truth, as the pair will certainly merely be involved seeing that producers on the impending sequel.
Via Slashfilm, Chris Burns was on hand on the TCAs to discuss their Sibel comedy series The Past Man on Earth, when he was inevitably mentioned their other forthcoming comedy project:
We are difficult at work on 23 Jump Street, i always think we will probably just produce from a time standpoint. But we’ve been doing work really hard. We’ve received a really good first draft of a script inside and we’re truly excited about it.
As for their involvement with The Flash along with the young Han Solo Star Wars flick, Miller was not surprisingly unable to comment. It’ersus those two projects which are currently eating way up Lord and Miller’ersus time — the pair are developing the actual screenplay for The Flash film for WB, and not too long ago signed on to compose and direct your Han Solo standalone motion picture.
23 Jump Street is being scripted by means of Rodney Rothman, who previously authored 22 Jump Street and installments of Undeclared. Rothman is also producing The actual Lonely Island’s impending film, tentatively titled Conner4Real.
Lord and Miller previously said that they had come up with a fantastic concept for 23 Bounce Street, which would incorporate all the wacky fake sequels from the end credits regarding 22 Jump Street, making people sequels “official canon.”
Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum will get back to reprise their roles to the third film, that does not currently have a release date.
