It only took a quarter of a century, even so the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger semi-classic (emphasis on the “semi”) Kindergarten Cop is finally finding a sequel! A direct-to-video follow up. From the guy which made Jarhead 2. Starring Dolph Lundren.
Oh young man.
And it’s already shooting! There are set photos and everything.
The information comes to us via Macho Movie, a website of which presumably covers cinema of the masculine persuasion. And let’s face it, there’s nothing more masculine than a tough-as-nails cop having an inscrutable European accent breaking through a classroom involving six year olds to take down a felony. This cop will become familiar with valuable lessons concerning having a softer side and caring for little ones. Because real men understand that public education will be the real battlefield.
We’ve got to hand this to the people who yanked this whole shebang together – spreading Dolph Lundgren in Kindergarten Cop 2 can be an inspired choice. In the end, he is literally poor people man’s Arnold Schwarzenegger. Like Schwarzenegger, he’s a musclebound action movie star who has spent his or her entire career struggling with his accent. In addition to like Schwarzenegger, his musclebound physique often betrays the fact that he’ersus a whip-smart guy. Arnold seemed to be governor of Kah-lee-forn-ya. Lundgren has a Master’azines Degree in Compound Engineering. As the low-budget, B-movie sort of Arnold, Lundgren’s perfect for the actual low-budget, B-movie sequel to Kindergarten Cop.
Here’s how Manly Film describes the follow up:
The new Kindergarten Cop is a leading man variety with an Indian partner named Sanjit. They’re within the trail of a lacking flash drive from the Fed Witness protection software. Somehow it’s ended up in a kindergarten category. Flimsy premise, nevertheless it puts him side by side with a beautiful teacher and they hit it off. There’s also crooks involved– this time they’re Albanian.
Damn Albanians. Whenever will they leave your American schools by yourself? We only have numerous Swedish cops we could send undercover!
If you want to see what Lundgren looks like like a faux instructor of young children, hit the connection above. We don’big t know when Kindergarten Police officer 2 will be finished, yet we imagine it’ll be sliding into the local Redbox soon enough.
