Passengers is one of the most envisioned upcoming projects, integrating mega-star and everyone’s beloved imaginary BFF Jennifer Lawrence using recent blockbuster big Chris Pratt. The sci-fi relationship, which also stars Michael Sheen as a trading program, has just added one more major name on the cast: Laurence Fishburne.
With the toss of Hannibal released from other contracts and the leads of a fourth year looking increasingly skeptical (ugh), the stars with the series have been buying new projects. Hugh Dancy offers joined Hulu series The Way together with Aaron Paul, and in line with THR, Laurence Fishburne has lined up a fairly great follow-up with Passengers.
There aren’t details for Fishburne’azines role in the movie, which takes place in the long run on a spacecraft carrying 1000s of passengers to a location light-years away. One voyager (Pratt) awakens from cryo-sleep first, and takes this upon himself to wake a fellow traveler (Lawrence) to keep him organization. Sheen will play a robot in the film, which had been written by Prometheus scribe Jon Spaihts and will be guided by The Imitation Game’azines Morten Tyldum.
Passengers was actually written well before Prometheus and earned some attention on the Dark List before the idea entered a lengthy improvement process. Keanu Reeves was attached with star at some time before Sony eventually took the proper rights.
Just today, the business announced an official November 21, 2016 release day for the film — before awards season.
