Well, there’s two homes you never expected to discuss a casting statement. Yes, following the work on HBO’s The Brink, ex – Daily Show correspondent Aasif Mandvi has arrived himself two gleaming new gigs, just one busting hackers intended for USA’s Mr. Robot, the other being a sinister uncle to Netflix’s Series of Sad Events. I smell crossover!
Per Deadline, Mandvi will take this recurring Mr. Robot role seeing that Jesse, a special adviser described a bit of a “canine,” we’d imagine among those tasked with finding Elliot with the exceptional fsociety cronies. The meatier part is owned by Netflix’s take on A Compilation of Unfortunate Events, picking up from Billy Connolly’s 2004 video role as the dubious Uncle Monty, who the actual Baudelaire children are sent to experience.
In addition to Patrick Warburton since Lemony Snicket and Neil Patrick Harris overpowering Jim Carrey’s remarkable 2004 Count Olaf, Mandvi joins Supergirl star Malina Weissman in the role of oldest child Violet Baudelaire, accompanied by newcomer Louis Hynes as Klaus.
Mr. Robot Year 2 will premiere on USA come early july, while Netlflix has but to specify an over-all premiere window due to the Series of Unfortunate Events.
