The Venture Bros. production changed quite a bit over the years, when airing 13 symptoms a season around largely unbroken runs, and today averaging eight with specials in between. The same may apparently always be true of Season 6, some of which has already been composed, and may end up as a new go-between special after Time 6.
Revered creators Fitzgibbons Publick and Doc Claw spoke to TVInsider on the final two Venture Bros. episodes of Season 6, along with the series’ future beyond. Intriguingly, the bride and groom revealed that they’d back-burnered the original idea with the two-part Season 6 finale in favor of newer (in addition to admittedly less climactic) testimonies. Says Publick:
The story we’actu writing now would’ve been the season finale, but we didn’t reach it. We weren’to ready for it if it came time to create the last two pieces of software. And there was actually just a little confusion for a while as to whether or not the Gargantua special counted against our 10-episode order, so we ended up writing like 4 different stories at the same time not knowing whether we had two scripts eventually left or four.
When it turned out we only acquired two, we were similar to, “Alright, I guess we ought to do our finale.” And then we thought, “Absolutely no, we haven’t truly earned it however. We need to flesh out and about this Monarch arc a little more….” And we all made a judgement call and wrote a pair of other stories that individuals were very pumped up about.
Publick explained that the exact same was true of last season, reaching the script order in advance of a proposed end, which ultimately resulted in “All This and Gargantua-2” filling up the role, rather than oxygen as a Season 6 premiere. The current account has been eyed as a Period 7 premiere, although Publick acknowledged the possibility of their marbles changing:
Publick: At the moment, it would be the premiere for one more season. But you don’t know with us. Just like the Gargantua particular, once we actually produced it, we gone, “Hey, it would be much better to just put that on TV now as compared to wait until the rest of the season is done.” It given itself to like a special. This history we’re telling at the moment is not a special. Right, Doc?
Hammer: Yeah, the Gargantua one had such an world famous scope, and it wasn’t happening on the Opportunity Compound. It style of worked as a specific. But this is just the very last part of the story. Although we were tinkering with positioning it at a certain time that could make it a special.
In the actual meantime, the combo acknowledges that Sunday’ersus penultimate “A Party for Tarzan” can prove the more climactic regarding Season 6's last two episodes, to the point they’d even attempted to turn back the order, but couldn’testosterone levels adjust for continuity.
Stay tuned for the most up-to-date on The Venture Bros.’ large finish in the meantime.
